Drayton Hall

If there are ghosts, they surely walk this place. Drayton Hall has been left untouched. It stands empty, except for the spirits. Inside, you will see original floor and wall coverings. There is no furniture that looks right, but was never in the original house. The result is chilling. The guides tell the story of the house, of the owners. It was saved from Sherman's torches by the genius of the lady of the house. She hang a yellow cloth from the porch to signify small pox or yellow fever. Plague. The Union troops wouldn't come near the place. And so it survives for us today.

This house made such an impression on me. So much so, I included it in a novella that I wrote.
